Hi again everyone! Like we announced last time, Bishonen Fund R2 is here. The goal is $250 and the previous Chibi discount bundle is back!

WHAT IS THE BISHONEN FUND?

It's really just another commissions post. It was initially set up so we can dump money towards JP gift cards, but we've moved past that and plan to channel the extra income into more productive means, such as personal projects -- and more importantly, day-to-day expenses. The Bishonen Fund is not run on a regular basis, rather something we run when we have spare time, or need a break from VN asset work.

THE GOAL

Our goal this round is to take US$250.00 worth of commissions. This round will remain open until we hit this goal. We will update our progress in the blog post's title so it is easy for everyone to keep track of this goal.

ROUND 2 SPECIAL

We've prepared a nice chibi bundle for users who like chibi art! (^_^)

Couple Chibi Set: (1x) Couple Chibi + (2x) Icons of the same 2 characters = US$60.00 (You save: $30!!)
This bundle is ideal for those who want cute couple art. Both products come at a height of 1000px, which is good enough for little merchandise such as badges or stickers! This bundle is for 2 characters, so if you'd like the icons to be of 2 other characters that's the couple, then the bundle price does not apply.

Kindly note that the above samples are NOT AN ACCURATE REPRESENTATION OF THE FINAL PRODUCT. While the finished product will have the same level of polish, we cannot guarantee that they will be rendered in the same style. This is a joint commissions post after all, and most of the samples you see above were done individually. We've prepared something else which is more of an accurate representation of what you can get:

(SUPER IMPORTANT. Feel free to throw us as many as you want -- the more images you supply, the better understanding we have of your characters).

**IMPORTANT: We promise not to abuse the access you have give to us, and we will use the materials for references ONLY.

OTHER NOTES

This section will cover policies such as revisions and payment. Please keep the following pointers in mind when submitting your request:

REVISIONS: You can request changes during the sketching stage, but not beyond that. Please ask for a logical number of revisions. We reserve the right to turn down revisions which take too much time, or charge extra for them.

WHAT WE WILL DRAW: This is a character-centric commissions post. We accept both original and fandom characters, but please refer to the following guidelines:

No R18. We will only take general, all-ages, worksafe jobs.
Human characters only. Animal features such as tails or wings are all right, but we will only take characters that are recognizably human. That means no mechas or monsters either, although if your character is a dragon knight and you'd like us to throw that in, you can try to negotiate.
Fandom characters are OK, but please limit it to the following: Gundam 00, Gundam Unicorn (re:0096), FFVX, Dynasty Warriors 8; Yume100, Banyaro, Aichuu, EnStar, Boykira; Fotokatsu.

GRAPHICS: The works you commission will not come with extra graphics, e.g. a wallpaper export, and so on. If you'd like other exports of your character, such as an icon export, you can discuss the specifics with us.

PAYMENT

PAYMENT METHOD: Paypal only to [ silmavera@outlook.com ]. Please wait for an invoice from us before sending the money over. We require the FULL AMOUNT to be paid for in advance before we can begin your work.

PAYPAL FEES: You do not have to bear the costs as we have these factored in our prices already.

REFUNDS: If we do not complete your request within 30 days of your payment, we will issue you a full refund. However, keep in mind that since Paypal will take a cut from all transfers, we are unable to refund you the exact original amount. For example:

You transfer $100.00 to us, and Paypal takes a $5 cut = We receive $95.00. This $95.00 is the amount which we will refund back to you.
We refund $95.00 back to you, and Paypal takes YET ANOTHER $5 cut = You'll end up receiving $90.00 back.

TERMS OF USAGE, ETC.

USAGE: You are free to use this for both personal and commercial purposes. For example, if you commissioned a 4R print from us and want to sell that at your online shop or cons, you can do so PROVIDED THAT YOU FULLY OWN THE RIGHTS TO YOUR CHARACTER. Please do not sell fanart commissions, we will not be responsible for any legal complications that may arise. neeproject only claims to have created the product and will not be held responsible for its usage.

MODIFICATION: We allow edits and modifications on our work, to the grounds that the original integrity of the artwork remains intact. We ask that you honour our efforts and treat the works respectfully.

ATTRIBUTION: You do not have to attribute/credit us when you use the works for your endeavours, though attribution is always nice. We reserve the right to put up the commissioned works on our sites and social media for portfolio purposes.

$25 Commissions

For those of you who just want a quick commission, Elphie and I have will prepare $25 character art, with the promise of delivery within 72 hours. Slots may be limited so do watch out for updates on our Twitter! (^o^) We'll probably roll this out a little after 3 July, just to give some time for Bishonen Fund orders to roll in.

VN Assets

Finally, we're still open for VN assets commissions. We didn't get any offers since our last update in May, it makes both Elphie and I so sad (;___; ) I promise we're serious and devoted and will not run away! We finally have enough samples to put up this post! As some of you would know, Elphie and I have been hard at work tackling our mortal enemy. After roughly one month of practice we feel ready to take on some work so do take a look and see if we're able to help you!

WHAT WE CAN DO

We're currently open for visual novel BG work, and this includes CG backgrounds or any other sort of landscape/environment art that you might need. Assistant artist jobs such as colouring (if you already have the lineart ready) is also all right!

We can start work in June, but please feel free to email us your project specs and needs beforehand. (^_^)

PRICING AND SPECS

Prices vary based on complexity, but we start from $100. Everything is hand-drawn and painted, taking anywhere between 30 - 50h per piece. However, we're quite happy to provide discounts and cost-saving options since we're just starting out so do check with us for more details! (^^) Prices will also vary according to canvas size but the samples you see above were all done at 3200 x 1800px. We are quite comfortable with working at mid-res (around 3000px).

We have a standard payment procedure of 10% upfront payment before starting any work, but most people we've worked with have their own habits/established practices and we're happy to adjust when we can.

1. A detailed overview of your project. It's important for us to know what your project is about as much as possible. If your project takes place on Earth, is it an Asian city (more anime-esque, Japan) or western? If it's fantasy, is it medieval or JRPG?

2. A list of the BGs you need done, and the deadline/project schedule for them. How many variants will you need as well in addition to standard variants such as day/night versions? Do you need the BGs to be prepared at hi-res or will a lower resolution (can be cheaper) do?

3. Other relevant details such as your budget and preferred style; any and all image refs you have in mind. If you have decided on a character artist already or have some existing artwork, be it concept or character, do send us some previews so we can understand your project better!

4. Your name/handle, so we know how to address you properly.

We will endeavour to respond to you as swiftly as we can!

OTHERS

Kindly note that while the final artwork will belong to you, we reserve the right to use it on our own websites and so on for portfolio purposes. This includes posting WIPs on our social media. If this is a concern to you, please let us know and we'll work some things out.

Has it really been more than a month since our last update!? I apologise! (x_x) I wanted to post this update in April but we've been busy with commissions and other things... there was a wise person who once said that artists only update their blogs or websites when they're looking for a new job. How absolutely on-point.

Rising Angels

Users who actively follow Komi-Tsuku and us on Twitter might know that work on the next RA game is already underway. I was able to get the opportunity to re-design everyone's uniforms and other outfits!



I'm so happy that everyone has outfits that reflect their characteristics better now... RA has come so far. I hope you'll enjoy seeing them when the game is out! (*_*)

Background Practice

After years of procrastination and coming up with all sorts of excuses, Elphie and I finally forced ourselves to conquer one of our biggest fears: backgrounds. XD



I'm focusing on lineart first while Elphie is doing colour studies. We've actually got a few BGs coloured already and I will post them up on the gallery soon! (*_*) We plan to release them as free assets since these are mainly for practice. Would anyone be interested in the lineart-only version as well, or just the finished, coloured versions?

Others

Finally, Elphie made some character designs for a project that ended up in the bin. We think it'd be a shame to let these go to waste as Elphie's spent a lot of time on them though, so we're thinking of selling them as adoptables. More details should be up soon. (^_^)
